XTEN, the Latin American League of Legends team with Olympic roots | Sports | America Edition

XTEN Esports, a team in the Latin American League of Legends (LLA), has its roots in Olympic sport because the owner of the team, Ha Neul Lee, was inspired by his father, Woong Lee, coach of the Mexican shooting team. with bow that participated in London 2012, to apply the discipline of traditional sport to eSports.

“Since I was a kid, when I accompanied him to the Olympic Games to archery competitions, I was interested in sports and the discipline that is in them, that’s what we try to do in eSports with XTEN”, said Ha Neul Lee to Eph.

Woong was part of the coaching team that helped Mexico in 2012 to get the silver medal from Aida Román and the bronze from Mariana Avitia, the first for the country that sport in the Olympic Games.

At XTEN, the players follow the discipline of traditional sports through sports psychologists (at this time they have Susana Bolio, who has trained high-performance Mexican athletes), and they are accompanied by a multidisciplinary plan.

“We take care of the players from how they get up, it is not just arriving and turning on the computer, it is how they eat breakfast, what they eat for breakfast and what they do after breakfast. The team talks, the mentality that they lead to their day to day,” he explained Read.

Woong was the first owner of XTEN, but he handed over the management to his son Ha Neul Lee for him to pursue other projects.

The organization based in Mexico has a new objective in 2020, to become a multidisciplinary organization, and for this it will seek to be one of the teams that participate in the first face-to-face Mexican Rainbow Six: Siege Championship that will be based in Mexico City.

“At XTEN we always have the idea of being in the best competitive tournaments in the region. Rainbow Six is going to open the doors to the ‘shooter’ (video game) genre, where there is a passionate audience that continues to grow,” said the manager of the team.
