The final of the LLA arrives strengthened and also with records in the region, according to Raúl Fernández, country manager at Riot Games.
“Through our channels and TV Azteca we managed to gather close to eight million unique viewers, an increase of 116% compared to the start of the opening league last year and we had a total of 11 million views, 74% more than in 2019, ”Fernández said in an interview.
Due to the pandemic, the final cannot be held in person and a large part of the tournament had to be adapted to take place online. Mexico represents the largest market for Riot Games in the region and Fernández says that thanks to alliances with companies such as Cinemex and Tv Azteca they have been able to reach a greater number of people.
“We have 35 countries in Latin America and Mexico represents about 26% of our audience. It is by far the largest market and we estimate that it will continue to grow thanks to strategic alliances at the national level ”, he added.
Last week, Spotify announced a deal to have exclusive League of Legends content like interviews and podcasts. According to Fernández, the initial content of the alliance will be in English, but he assured that they are in talks with the music platform to make content in Spanish or for the region.
The final of the League of Legends LLA will be broadcast on the official channels of Riot Games and on Tv Azteca on Saturday from 3:00 p.m. time in Mexico City.
