The incredible story of Freya, the Argentine League of legends coach who achieved the promotion of the Newstar team to the LVP

Priscila Licata, alias Freya , is the first female head coach to promote a League of Legends (LOL) team, Newstar (N5R) , to the LVP, the Professional Videogame League, in Chile. At 28, Rosario’s coach wants to make a career in the esports scene.

“I was always a very competitive person and after a year and a half of playing for fun, I began to get interested in competitive as a player, years later I ended up training as a coach,” he told Infobae Gaming .From a very young age, she likes to play video games on consoles and PCs with her siblings. In 2017 he made it his profession, leading his own organization called Pandora’s Warriors and later, becoming a coach.

Being a head coach implies being in charge of the group of players, their training and training. Besides that, we design the strategies to draw winning games. We are in charge of the team in competitions. My arrival at NewStar comes after the first national circuit to replace their old staff who left their position. They already knew my job and offered me the position. NewStar is a very solid organization, they work super well, and the truth is that they came strong to stay in the competitive LVP ”, he says .

It is also true that we suffer a lot of harassment and bullying from men. They insult and mistreat, and that makes many girls stop playing. I think the way to change the scene for the better, basically, is to educate it to stop happening. And you have to support women to encourage them. There are a lot of roles. And one way to encourage is by giving visibility to girls”, He ends.
