What else could Riot Games do to chain us in front of the screen? Well, create a League of Legends MMO . The studio that created the also successful Valorant has announced the arrival of this work, which promises to give us an abysmal amount of hours.
The confirmation has come through Greg Street , the company’s vice president of intellectual property and entertainment. Through a post on his Twitter account, he has stated that they are looking for staff for the new project related to the League of Legends universe .

My recent job at Riot has been to help develop the League universe, which we’re going to need!
Because it is time. My new job is to kick off a big (some might say massive) game that many of you, and many Rioters, have been asking us to create.

Un posterior tweet de Street, preguntándole si se trataba de un MMO, confirmó todas las sospechas. Polygon confirmó más tarde con otro miembro de Riot Games que, efectivamente, se trata de un MMORPG.

Ahora tan solo restan por conocer los detalles. Lo más probable es que la acción tenga lugar en el mundo de Runeterra, escenario que comparte el propio LoL junto a otros títulos de la empresa. Greg Street es una persona con un amplio recorrido en la industria y ya trabajó como diseñador principal de sistemas para World of Warcraft. No es ningún novato en los MMORPG.
Mientras tanto, Riot Games tiene muchos otros proyectos entre manos. Ruined King: A League of Legends Story finalmente no saldrá a principios de 2021, pero hemos podido ver nuevo gameplay. Además, la llegada de Wild Rift os permite jugar a la versión móvil de LoL de una manera muy sencilla.
