A few hours ago, an earthquake with a magnitude of 6.3 on the Richter scale shook central Croatia, leaving at least one person dead and several injured. This is a serious situation that a famous streamer and League of Legends professional experienced during a broadcast.
Perkz, a mid laner who was recently signed by Cloud9, was broadcasting League of Legends from his home country of Croatia. The player is currently there due to the holiday era and that, at the moment, the competitive Riot Games MOBA leagues are on their annual hiatus.
As you can imagine, Perkz thought it would be a broadcast like any other, so he was practicing League of Legends while his fans were watching. That said, the unexpected natural disaster changed plans, as the streamer had to move away from the keyboard for his safety and that of his family.
At first, Perkz didn’t seem too surprised by the earthquake. That said, as the intensity increased, he realized that it was a serious earthquake, so he abandoned his League of Legends game to vacate his home.
You can see the moment here or in the following video:
Perkz had never felt a tremor
In a post made on Twitter , Perkz revealed that he had never felt a shaking in his own flesh before. That could explain why his initial reaction was so calm for the scale of the situation.
“The first time I felt an earthquake and it was the strongest ever in Croatia. Good heavens, ”mentioned the League of Legends professional on social media.
