In a month full of news for their free to play, the Respawn Entertainment team has decided to celebrate Black History Month with an in-game initiative.
Specifically, the software house wanted to make a special banner available for all battle royale players. A few hours after the launch of Season 8 of Apex Legends , the team honored the community with content dedicated to Black Lives Matter , a movement of indignation and popular mobilization that spread – we remember – in the USA following the death of George Floyd .
At the moment, Black History Month is celebrated in the United States of America , or the month dedicated to African American history. For the occasion, as you can check in the Tweet directly at the bottom of this news, Respawn Entertainmentshared a message with the community. In announcing the giveaway banner, the team writes: “This is a small reminder that we must always stand in solidarity with our black colleagues, partners, family, friends and players in the fight against racism and social injustice .”
Coinciding with the presentation of the latest financial results, Electronic Arts confirmed an excellent commercial performance for Apex Legends , with free to play significantly exceeding the company’s initial expectations.
