AGI – Through “Fortnite”, the popular videogame among teenagers, he convinced children as young as ten to send them child pornography images and videos on Whatsapp, Tik-Tok or Instagram. A 17-year-old boy was reported for child pornography and solicitation of minors as part of an investigation by the Turin Prosecutor’s Office which began in July and conducted by agents of the Rivoli (Turin) police station with the help of the police department postal service of Piedmont and Veneto.
According to the reconstruction of the investigators, the solicitation of the children always took place in the same way: the adolescent first presented himself as a “friend” and a simple playmate, then, at a later time, he sent child pornography photos and asked for more in return. often even under threat. The parents of the children involved were unaware of what had been happening for months in their children’s bedrooms, isolated due to the lockdown.
To discover everything, however, was the mother of a 10-year-old child who, after checking her son’s smartphone, read a suspicious sentence and then, opening a chat, the ongoing conversation with the 17-year-old accompanied by photos and videos. The woman then turned to the Rivoli police station and filed a complaint by triggering the operation called ‘Fortnite’.
