We continue to review , quarter by quarter, the highlights of League of Legends in 2020 . In this case, we are going to stay with the second section of the year, from April to the end of June.
April
We come to the month where abichuelas are cooked in all competitions. On April 2nd we had the SLO final , which faced Movistar Riders and Vodafone Giants . The final was historic as it had to be delayed for several hours, ending after 2 in the morning with a 3-2 victory for VGIA .
Our Yuste participated in the analysis table of a completely online broadcast that, despite the delay, delighted the viewers by bringing a format as close as possible.
En la LEC tuvimos los playoffs y las primeras sorpresas: MAD Lions se cargaba a G2 Esports en primera ronda y lo mandaba al losers bracket. Desde ahí, el equipo de Ocelote se hizo todo el run hasta coronarse de nuevo contra Fnatic en la final por 3-0.
Mayo
Mes de transición en el panorama de League of Legends. Tuvimos la esperada confirmación de que el MSI se cancelaba, sustituido por varios eventos benéficos: una Mid-Season Cup entre la LCK y la LPL, y el Streamathon que se hizo en Europa para recaudar fondos para la pandemia.
Por supuesto, en dicho torneo no podía faltar la participación española, y nos representó un equipo de la comunidad formado por personalidades entre streamers, jugadores y casters. Había nacido ‘Altokekw’.
Junio
Volvían las competiciones, todavía en formato online. En la LEC teníamos bastantes novedades: la vuelta de Caps a la mid lane y de Perkz como adc, el regreso de Kobbe a Europa, el debut de rookies ilusionantes como Labrov, etc. MAD Lions, la sorpresa en primavera, ocupó la primera posición de la tabla en verano desde la semana 3.
In the SLO we also had news, especially one: the arrival of Cream Real Betis to the Superliga Orange . A team that brought together a more general public alongside a roster of familiar faces that helped build sympathy for the team. Also, and as a curious fact, eMonekyz started the season as the leader of the league.
